Helping to heal

Wonderkarma has the great privilege and responsibility of working together in partnership with the Traditional Owners of the Great Barrier Reef. As we know, the Reef is under serious threat and the time to act is now. The Great Barrier Reef Foundation, through its partnership with the Australian Government (The Reef Trust Partnership), recognises the critical role Traditional Owners play in helping the Reef heal. Traditional Knowledge has finally been acknowledged as equal to Western science. The time has also come to not just involve Traditional Owners in a meaningful way – but for Traditional Owners to lead and for their voices to be heard.

This piece of video storytelling makes an important mark in the timeline of this journey we’re embarking on together. A genuinely co-designed piece of work, the Healing Country project was led by the Traditional Owners. Wonderkarma listened, learned and provided our expertise when required. It’s another small step in an ongoing journey.
